Jay is away this week, but that's not stopping us!  Jonathan and Rodney are both in-studio, and we even get Jay via telephone.  We discuss Vegas, Bachelor Parties, and Bad impersonations of celebrities (among other shenanigans).

Ep. 142 - CARRIE (1976) and CARRIE (2013)

They're all gonna laugh at you!

THIS WEEK, we're angsty, and bloody, and we go to the prom!

First up, it's the Stephen King horror classic, CARRIE.  CARRIE is Directed by Brian De Palma, and stars Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, and Betty Buckley.  After that, we watch the now-in-theaters remake by the same name.  Directed by Kimberly Pierce, the 2013 CARRIE stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, and Gabriella Wilde.  

You might want to think twice before teasing the quiet kid when you're in a Stephen King story.  ;-)

Mass Moviecide PREGAME! - The One About VEGAS, SOUTH PARK, BIG BANG THEORY THEORIES, and GUN CONTROL

THIS WEEK, we prep for our Moviecide episode by first explaining why we're a day late!  We talk about Jay's favorite barber shops, and his upcoming Vegas vacation.  We stand in awe of "South Park", and their first ever missed-deadline.  We laugh at the "Big Bang Theory's" theory on "Raiders of The Lost Ark."  We also take a chance to congratulate Rodney on his International Film Festival Manhattan win.  We even take a more somber tone, and ponder just why guns continue to be a major problem in the U.S.A.

It's sometimes silly, sometimes serious.  Join us as we PREGAME.

GRAVITY - Bonus Episode!

Time for another BONUS episode!

This week, we watch Alfonso Cuaron's GRAVITY, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney!  The movie has been a box office smash, possibly due to the hype surrounding it's breathtaking visual effects and suspenseful-as-hell story.

Houston, this is MASS MOVIECIDE, and we are GO for launch!

IFFM #4 - DEFECTIVE, iLOVE, and NOT FADE AWAY

It's the fourth and final episode in our International Film Festival Manhattan series!  This time, we speak with Gerard Mendez, director of "DEFECTIVE", a futuristic noir film whose style is based on the art of "Batman's" Frank Miller.  We speak with Luis Enrique about his tech/love story short 'iLOVE", about two iPhones who manipulate their owners in an effort to be together.  Last but not least, we speak with Rodney Reyes (Mass Moviecide regular) about his short "NOT FADE AWAY", about a young couple taking matters into their own hands when faced with a sci-fi catastrophe.

IFFM #3 - SAVE THE PUTNAM NATURE TRAIL and LOADED

Our interviews with INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL MANHATTAN continue!  This time, we speak with Will Sanchez and Vanessa Corwin, the producers of the documentary short, "SAVE THE PUTNAM NATURE TRAIL," a film on a mission to save a beloved stretch of nature in the Bronx.  Then, we talk with Andrea Williams.  Willams directed the psycho-drama "LOADED," a twisting, turning, edge-of-you-seat thriller that was made because Andrea was "bored at work."

It's a little bit of reality mixed with a little bit of fiction, and inspirational film-making all around!

Ep. 141 - THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE and THE ABC's OF DEATH

Well, folks, it had to happen sooner or later.  “Later” has arrived.  Someone finally requested it.

THIS WEEK, we get take a request from Joy, via our email (MassMoviecide@gmail.com).  First up, it’s THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE, directed by Tom Six and starring Dieter Laser, Ashlyn Yennie, Ashley C Williams, and Akihiro Kitamura.  After that, we stumble, nauseatingly, into THE ABC’s OF DEATH, directed by 26 separate filmmakers and starring oodles more.

This time, we talk to Sheila Mitchell Simmons, the director of “A LOTHARIO’s LAMENT”, Fernando Cuestas, director of “VISITING HOUR” and “SHOE SHINE CHICKEN”, and  director/comedian Sean Lynch about his film "GAME NIGHT", which is premiering at the festival.
