That's right, ladies and gents, our heroes have made it through 50 of the movies on AFI's "100 Years...100 Movies" list. To celebrate this halfway momentous occasion, they're doing a Halfway Extravaganza! This week, our film-fighting freaks take a short break from their arduous couch potato lifestyle to reflect on the 25 episodes they've made it through thus far. The ups, the downs, the laughs, the tears.

Halfway home!
This week, MASS MOVIECIDE hits the 50 movie mark on AFI's "100 Years...100 Movies" list. I suppose you could call it a 'coming of age' episode, which is exactly why we're looking at 2 coming of age stories this week. THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, and AMERICAN GRAFFITI.

Happy Independence Day, American Movieciders!
It's time for a little Christmas in July with one of this weeks options, complete with a visit from the fat man! That's right, Alfred Hitchcock is back again with REAR WINDOW, followed by a heartwarming classic, IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. We're looking at two Jimmy Stewart movies today. This week, we're examining some of the sickest bastards on the AFI 100 Years...100 Movies list. We like to "viddy the films now and again, oh brothers" and this week is no different than any other. What begins as an all-around agreement may just deteriorate into vicious brawling!

That's right, it's been a while since we let off some of the steam from AFI's "100 Years...100 Movies" list. We decided we needed to talk about something a little more recent, and so here we are with our SECOND BONUS EPISODE. We review the most recent installment in the X-Men series, "X-Men: First Class".

The summer months are upon us, Movieciders, and it makes us feel like dancin'.
This week, we've got two song and dance classics. SWING TIME with Fred Astaire, and YANKEE DOODLE DANDY with James Cagney. "So You Think You Can Dance" has got nothing on Mass Moviecide this week.

Welcome back, Movieciders. This week we're heading to boot camp and shipping out for MASH and SAVING PRIVATE RYAN.
I suppose that it's fitting that this episode be released around the 2011 anniversary of D-Day, and while we may be balancing the horrific images in "Saving Private Ryan" with the screwball laughs of "MASH", we at MASS MOVIECIDE still want to pause and salute the armed forces, and remember those who have given all they could to protect their country.
Not much "cutesy" material I can type out here. A little laughter, a few tears. Still, just because we respect the era and the history, it doesn't mean the movies will automatically escape our three hero's wrath.

It just so happens that episode 18 is released on Memorial Day 2011, here in the USA. Fitting, that our films include a bit of American history then (both on-screen and off).
