Ep. 55 - CITIZEN KANE

We've arrived.  This week, we view the final flick on our list.  The American Film Institute's "100 Years...100 Movies" number one film.  Tonight's podcast is a year in the making.  We're discussing Orson Welles' CITIZEN KANE.  Considered by many to be the greatest film of all time, Citizen Kane is a cinematic marvel from  a technical standpoint as well as performances (most notably Welles himself). Still....the mystery remains... ...Rosebud.

Ep. 54 - THE GODFATHER

You've come a long way with us Movieciders, but there's still a short way to go, so we're gonna make you an offer you can't refuse. WE'RE GONNA WATCH THE GODFATHER! That's right, ladies and gents!  This week we arrive at the #2 movie on the AFI 100 Years...100 Movies list!  Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece, THE GODFATHER, stars Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan, Diane Keaton, Robert DuVall, Talia Shire and many many more. We're gonna go to the mattresses over this flick and maybe even have time for a cannoli afterword. The hits just keep on rollin', Movieciders, so hop into your 1953 Packard, equip it with an iPod, hit play, and then make sure no one is sitting behind you with piano wire.  Prepare to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 53 - CASABLANCA

I remember that day, Movieciders.  The Germans wore grey.  You wore blue. THAT'S the kind of poetic dialogue you're getting form THIS week's movie, bitches!  Our heroes are down to number three!  Numero tres!  Top Three Film land, ladies and gents!  This week we take a look at CASABLANCA, Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Claude Rains.  Directed by Michael Curtiz. It's a slow burn of WW2 tension.  Get on that plane, listeners.  It's time for another MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 52 - RAGING BULL

Woohoo!  Number 4! And once again, we're getting into the boxing ring! This week our heroes take a look at Martin Scorcese's RAGING BULL, starring Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci!  This classic, black and white, boxing flick shows the darker side of determination, and I think that at this point in the game, we may be feeling some of it ourselves! So grab your iPod and shove those earbuds into the holes in your head!  It's time for another edition of MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 51 - SINGIN' IN THE RAIN

We're  on number 5 out of our 100 films.  It's been a lot of work sitting on a couch and watching movies, and we can almost taste the achievement.

So it's only natural that we're happy to review a light hearted musical comedy this time out!  We're watching "SINGIN' IN THE RAIN" starring Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, and Jean Hagen, and directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen.

Ep. 50 - GONE WITH THE WIND

Alright Movieciders, this week is a bit of a game-changer (as you'll hear), but all we can do is KEEP ON TRUCKIN'! This week, we tackle a film giant.  We're taking a look at GONE WITH THE WIND, starring Clark Gable, and Vivian Leigh.  It's directed by Victor Fleming (who we saw earlier, when we tackled THE WIZARD OF OZ).  Boy oh boy, with all this "tackling" going on, it's a wonder we watch any movies at all! Episode 49 - LAWRENCE OF ARABIA

We're down to number 7 on the top 10!  We're almost there!  Grab your cantines, Al Movieciders!  We're crossing the uncrossable desert! This week, our heroes look at LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, Directed by David Lean, starring Peter O'toole.

Ep. 48 - SCHINDLER'S LIST

On with the Top 10! This week, our heroes are examining the youngest of the films on the top 10.  "SCHINDLER'S LIST" is the retelling of a portion of the 2oth century's darkest hour.  Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley, and Ralph Fiennes, Schindler's List is the story of Oskar Schindler and the 1100 people who we now refer to as the "Schindler Jews". It's one of those "Sophie's Choice"/"Saving Private Ryan" episodes, so prepare yourself for a little bit less tomfoolery than usually clutters up Mass Moviecide. Ep. 47 - VERTIGO

MERRY CHRISTMAS, MOVIECIDE LISTENERS! In keeping with the holiday spirit....well, actually it has nothing to do with the holidays... In keeping with our plan all along, we come to the fourth and final Alfred Hitchcock film on our list.  Often considered Hitchcock's "masterpiece", VERTIGO stars James Stewart and Kim Novak.  This one's a real thrill ride! Or is it? You'll find out what our heroes think tonight, on another addition of MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 46 - THE WIZARD OF OZ

We've arrived, ladies and gentlemen!  It's the TOP 10.  We've made our way through 90 out of 100 films on the "AFI 100 Years...100 Movies" list, and we're just getting warmed up. This week, we begin the countdown.  One movie per episode.  We're starting with #10 on the list.  "The Wizard of Oz", starring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Margaret Hamilton, Terry the dog, and oodles upon oodles of singing Munchkins! Hop on the yellow brick road, podcasters!  Our heroes are counting down to the end of their first MASS MOVIECIDE!
