Ep. 81 - THE GREAT ESCAPE and STALAG 17

Ep. 80 - THE HANGOVER and BRIDESMAIDS

We're watching THE HANGOVER, directed by Todd Phillips, starring Zack Galifianakis, Ed Helms, and Bradley Cooper.  After that, we're taking a look at the girls' perspective with BRIDESMAIDS, directed by Paul Feig, starring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Rose Byrne. Pour yourself a drink, double check it for rufies (which should really be called "groundies" as you'll discover) and prepare for another MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 79 - GIANT and A FACE IN THE CROWD

Double the fun and back to the classics!  This week is filled with deja vu moments (not odd, considering we  did about 20 minutes of the episode without realizing our recording software had malfunctioned, and had to start over). Our pairing this week comes from Katie via our email (MassMoviecide@gmail.com).  We're watching two films from the 50's.  First up, it's GIANT directed by George Stevens and starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, and James Dean.  After that, we're paying our respects to the late Andy Griffith with A FACE IN THE CROWD, directed by Elia Kazan and starring Andy Griffith, Patricia Neal, and Walter Matthau. So start your oil wells, and crank your transistor radios!  It's time for another MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 78 - PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF

Alright, Moviecider's.  B is sick as a dog, but the show must go on! This week, we are watching two fun, campy, over-the-top flicks!  This request comes from Josh who left a comment here on our website MASSMOVIECIDE.com!  We're checking out the GRINDHOUSE double feature from a few years ago! First up, it's PLANET TERROR, directed by Robert Rodriguez, starring Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, and Josh Brolin.  After that, DEATH PROOF, directed by Quentin Tarantino, starring Kurt Russel, Rosario Dawson, and Zoe Bell. Rev up your engines, it's time for another MASS MOVIECIDE!

Bonus Episode - THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

The movie we've all been waiting for... A quick (not really) review of the most recent installment in the Batman legacy.  THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is directed by Christopher Nolan, and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, and Joseph Gordon Levitt. What did our heroes think?  You'll have to listen to find out!  The answer may surprise you.

And sometimes, we get nostalgic. THIS WEEK, it's another Special Request, and we always aim to please!  We're watching Disney's ALADDIN, starring Robin Williams and Gilbert Gottfried, and Disney's THE LION KING, starring Mathew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, and Nathan Lane! Ep. 76 - CINDERELLA MAN and MILLION DOLLAR BABY

Milestones come and go, but onward to the next one! Episode 76, we have two movies set against the age old sport of beating the hell out of each other!  First up, it's depression-era CINDERELLA MAN, directed by Ron Howard, and Starring Russel Crowe, Renee Zellweger, and Paul Giamatti.  After that, we flash forward in time to MILLION DOLLAR BABY, directed by Clint Eastwood, and starring Clint Eastwood, Hillary Swank, and Morgan Freeman. Have yourself a quick sports montage, and prepare for MASS MOVIECIDE!

Bonus Episode - THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION Mass Moviecide COMMENTARY

75 magnificent episodes! We've come a long way, Movieciders!  75 "official" episodes, plus some bonus ones.  To mark the 75th episode, we decided to have some fun.  We recorded a special commentary track to be played while watching THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.  Directed by Frank Darabont, and starring Tim Robbins, and Morgan Freeman. That's right, listeners!  Now YOU can have the delightful experience of trying to watch a movie while three film geeks talk throughout the whole movie!  It's two and a half hours of pure obnoxiousness in conjunction with a modern movie classic! So here's the deal for those of you who have never done one of these.  Get yourself a copy of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, be it dvd, blu ray, laserdisc, vhs, whatever.  Hit play.  You'll hear a little music.  When you get to the CASTLE ROCK logo, and the music crescendo's (just before lyrics are heard), you're going to hit PAUSE (this is about 12 seconds into the movie, and the lighthouse is "looking" over at the 'K' in "Castle Rock").  Now, play the Mass Moviecide Commentary Episode, wait for our signal, and hit PLAY on the movie.  You'll be synced up with us and voila!  Podcast and Listener become one for a glorious 2 hours!  Every now and then, you'll hear some of the movie audio playing on the podcast so that you can make sure you're still synced up.
