Ep. 106 - TOP GUN and RISKY BUSINESS

"Better late than never" eh, Movieciders? Here it is, the long awaited Tom Cruise episode!  With the rerelease of TOP GUN into Imax theaters, we thought it was about time we watched it.  While we were at it, we figured we might as well pair it up with another Tom Cruise classic. FIRST UP, it's TOP GUN, directed by Tony Scott and starring Tom Cruise, Tom Skerrit, Kelly McGillis, and Val Kilmer.  After that, we're watching RISKY BUSINESS directed by Paul Brickman, and starring Tom Cruise, Rebecca De Mornay, and Joe Pantoliano. Quench the need for speed, strip down to your underwear and slide across the floor, and prepare to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!

Oscars 2013 - BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD

While we try to have a regular scheduled program out every Sunday night/Monday morning, sometimes life gets in the way.  Not to worry, we'll have your podcast episode 106 out later this week.  In the meantime, the 2013 Academy Awards roar ever closer, and we roar back!  BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, directed by Benh Zeitlin, and starring Quevenzhane Wallis and Dwight Henry.  An independent film, cast with inexperienced actors who leave it all on the screen in this heartfelt drama/fantasy (sort of). So get yourself some fried gator and prep your shanty for the storm!  It's time to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 105 - MEAN STREETS and REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE

Superbowl Sunday?  Ha! Another week, another movie pairing.  This week we begin our next list of classic flicks, the first of which are troubled youths.  We're watching MEAN STREETS directed by Martin Scorsese, and starring Harvey Keitel, Robert DeNiro, and David Proval.  After that, we go back to the 50's for REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE, directed by Nicholas Ray and starring James Dean, Natalie Wood, and Sal Mineo. So get your angst bubbling, open a flip knife, avoid the guys you owe money to, and prepare to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 104 - BEBE'S KIDS and COOL WORLD

This week's request comes from Matthew via our email! (MassMoviecide@gmail.com) We don't watch enough cartoons around here. NOT TO WORRY!  This week, we're watching two animated (mostly) flicks from 1992.  We're watching BEBE'S KIDS, directed by Bruce W. Smith and starring Faizon Love, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and Tone Loc.  Then, we're getting way weirder with COOL WORLD, directed by Ralph Bakshi and starring Brad Pitt, Gabriel Byrne, and Kim Basinger. Get yourself in the mood for some cartoons, find a book of "Yo Mama" jokes, and remember never to screw a doodle!  It's time to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!

Oscars 2013 - LIFE OF PI

We continue our Oscar's 2013 conquest with the next in our list of Best Picture Nominees. Adapted from Yann Martel's best-selling novel of the same name, LIFE OF PI is the story of Pi Patel, recounting his experience of being shipwrecked (along with a 500lb Bengal Tiger named "Richard Parker") as a teen traveling to Canada with his family.  The film is an unmatched 3D spectacle, directed by Ang Lee, and starring Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Adil Hussain, and Rafe Spall.  Oh, and Gerard Depardieu even gets a little screen time in there. So get your 3D glasses on, and start rationing your food and drinking water.  Let's commit some MASS MOVIECIDE!

OSCARS 2013 - DJANGO UNCHAINED

It's a two-fer week, ladies and gents! As the 2013 ACADEMY AWARDS (or OSCARS) roll toward us, our Movieciding duo has decided to take on the challenge and watch/discuss all 9 of the Best Picture nominees. As they cut their way through these films, the respective podcast bonus episodes will find their way to your listening device.  You never know when another one is gonna hit! THIS WEEK, we begin our Moviecide of the 2013 Academy Award Best Picture nominees with DJANGO UNCHAINED.  Directed by Quentin Tarantino, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and Samuel L. Jackson. PREPARE TO COMMIT MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 103 - DEAD MAN's SHOES and THE BOONDOCK SAINTS

First, we're watching DEAD MAN'S SHOES directed by Shane Meadows, starring Paddy Considine, Gary Stretch, and Toby Kebbell.  After that, we move on to THE BOONDOCK SAINTS directed by Troy Duffy, starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus (currently of THE WALKING DEAD fame.  ...sorry, shameless use of good search-engine-words), and Willem Dafoe! Get out your silencers, gas masks, and Irish accents, ladies and gentlemen!  It's time to commit Mass Moviecide!

Ep. 102 - THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D

LEATHERFACE! We're beginning 2 new Moviecide trends.  1) We're getting topical with movies still in theaters! 2)  We're working on making the jump to YouTube!  In the coming days/weeks, we'll have YouTube videos up for your viewing pleasure!  We know you just can't wait to see our gorgeous mugs up on the small small screen. THIS WEEK, we're watching a pair of slasher-horror favorites (well...at least one of them is).  First up, it's the classic flick THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, directed by Tobe Hooper, and starring Marylin Burns, Edwin Neal, Jim Siedow, and Gunnar Hansen as the original Leatherface!  After that, we're watching the now-in-theaters TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D.  It's directed by John Luessenhop, and stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Trey Songz, and Dan Yeager picks up the Leatherface torch.  ...0r...chainsaw. Gas up your power-tools, it's time to commit MASS MOVIECIDE!

Ep. 101 - James Bond #1 - DR.NO and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

Bond. James Bond. Yeah, Movieciders!  Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2013 - The Year of JAMES BOND! Well...for us, anyway.  2012 marked the 50th anniversary of the world's most famous super-spy.  It seems only right that we get up off our asses and commit a little 007 Moviecide!  This year, our resolution is to watch every Bond film yet.  We're kicking 2013 off with the one that started it all!  First up, we're watching DR. NO, directed by Terrence Young and starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress, and Joseph Wiseman.  After that, we follow up right away with FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, also directed by Terrence Young and starring Sean Connery, Robert Shaw, Daniela Bianchi, and Lotte Lenya. Ep. 100 - EVERYTHING YOU'LL EVER NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MASS MOVIECIDE

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have arrived! After almost 2 years, close to 200 movies, a lot of laughs, and a lot of changes, and even a UK spin-off, MASS MOVIECIDE has reached it’s 100^th official episode!

THIS WEEK, we’re not discussing any two movie in particular. Instead, our heroes look back on the journey thus-far. We’re gonna have a little fun and reminisce about times gone by.  Our good friend Rodney returns to lead the trip down memory lane as if we were aged rock stars after the sold-out arena crowds had dwindled down. That’s right. It’s the VH-1 BEHIND THE PODCAST of Mass Moviecide.
