THIS WEEK, our heroes celebrate the last Pregame of 2013!  We talk about whether or not there is a media bias and whether news stories are presented fairly.  We discuss the recent Duck Dynasty scandal.  We say "Happy Birthday" to comic book Godfather, Stan Lee.  We argue the differences between Marvel and DC.  Tea companies get our attention with their use of Twitter to tip their employees, we point out the New Years Resolutions we each think each other should have, and we ring in the new year by saying good bye to Matt Smith as Doctor Who.

This week we have another Christmas season pairing for you.  First up, it's FRED CLAUS, directed by David Dobkin, and starring Vince Vaughn, Paul Giamatti, John Michael Higgins, and Elizabeth Banks.  After that, we take a look at the modern Holiday classic ELF, directed by Jon Favreau, and starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, and Zooey Deschanel.

Mass Moviecide PREGAME! - The One About ANT MAN, DUCK DYNASTY, POPES, and HOW TO TIP YOUR SERVER

It's a crazy week here at Mass Moviecide, so we're all over the place on the PREGAME!

We kick off our weekly banter with an uncharacteristically long conversation about our hair.  That's right.  Our hair.  After that, we talk about the recent news of Paul Rudd being cast as "Ant Man", as well as some other Marvel movie discussion.  We wander over to Netflix again and take a look at what Brendan is watching in his spare time (I'll give you one clue, it involves stars and trekking).  We throw in our two cents on the big "DUCK DYNASTY" scandal, and somehow we manage to meander from there into the Vatican with a discussion of Pope Francis.  To top it all off, we give some timely holiday (or maybe just every day) advice.

We've made it!  Episode 150!

To celebrate this milestone, Jay and Brendan each chose a movie they loved, but that the other hadn't seen.  The result?  AMERICAN SPLENDOR, directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, and starring Paul Giamatti, Harvey Pekar, and Hope Davis.  After that, we watch POOLHALL JUNKIES, directed by Gregory "Mars" Martin, and starring Mars Callahan, Chazz Palminteri, and Christopher Walken.

Mass Moviecide PREGAME! The One About NETFLIX DOCUMENTARIES, SANTA-CON, AFFLUENZA, and JAY'S NEGATIVITY

THIS WEEK we take a look at the documentary section on Netflix and watch a movie called "BLACKFISH".  We discuss our favorite Star Trek captains, and comment on this past weekend's Santa Con bar crawl event.  We lament the death of intelligence and justice in the wake of the "Affluenza" defense, and then we mourn the death of legendary actor Peter O'Toole.  We wrap things up by fixing Jay's negative-nancy demeanor.

Ep. 149 - GO and EYES WIDE SHUT

This week, we're watching two more Christmas movies! Well...they're not Christmas movies, but they're movies that take place at Christmas TIME!

First up, it's GO, directed by Doug Liman and starring Sarah Polley, Jay Mohr, and Katie Holmes.  After that, we're watching the final film of Stanley Kubrick.  EYES WIDE SHUT stars Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, and Sydney Pollack.

This week, we discuss some recent internet memes and hoaxes.  We dive into Jay's "first" Christmas.  We take a trip down memory lane and recall all the assignments we DIDN'T do in High School, and Brendan discusses one assignment he wishes he'd skipped.  It's all here on a "very special" PREGAME!
