This week we prep for our weekly show by discussing what went on over New Years eve!  We discuss drunks and the possible death of NYC’s annual Santa-Con bar crawl.  We watch a little "Undercover Boss” and we make travel plans using the website of a guy who’s being sued by airlines for trying to pass the savings on to YOU!

Ep. 202 - The TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY Commentary

THIS WEEK, we’re doing things a little differently.

Unfortunately, this week’s episode is NOT the kind that you can listen to in the car on the way to work.

For some end-of-2014 fun, we’re going to watch (not discuss, WATCH) one of our favorite movies.  Get your iPod, laptop, dvd, netflix, whatever, and bring up TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY.  It’s movie commentary time.  A full explanation of how/why we came to this decision for this week's episode can be found at the end of this week's PREGAME.

What you’ll want to do is sync up our episode with your movie.  

To do this: 

1. Start your copy of TERMINATOR 2 (as of this release, it is available on Netflix).  You’ll see the TriStar logo, and then the Carolco logo.   
2. After the Carolco logo, you will see a black screen. As soon as the name MARIO KASSAR appears, PAUSE your movie.  
3. Start MASS MOVIECIDE #202 (if you’re ready for the movie, skip to about the 4min30second mark)
4. When Brendan does the countdown and says “Play”, un-pause your movie, and enjoy listening to three knuckleheads talk throughout the entire film.  It’s the modern movie-theater experience right in the comfort of your own home.

TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY is directed by James Cameron and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Eddie Furlong, and Robert Patrick.  Oh, and it ROCKS.

PREGAME! The One About HOLIDAYS 2014, THE INTERVIEW, OVERPAID ACTORS, and MOVIEPASS

This week, we wrap up the holidays by talking about how our respective Christmas/Channukah celebrations went.  We’ll talk about Seth Rogen and James Franco and THE INTERVIEW (now in theaters AND your computer).  We’ll discuss the 10 most overpaid actors of 2014, and how AMC Theaters is about to get you on a subscription plan.  Then we’ll finish up by telling you a little about this weeks very special MASS MOVIECIDE episode.  

Ep. 201 - A CHRISTMAS STORY

THIS WEEK, we finish up our Christmas movie month with a true classic that can only be described as having cult status!  A CHRISTMAS STORY is directed by Bob Clark, based on the stories of Jean Shepherd, and stars Peter Billingsley, Darren McGavin, Melinda Dillon, and Ian Petrella.

This MASS MOVIECIDE is pretty fra-gi-le!  (Heh.  Must be Italian.)

PREGAME The One About COLBERT, CRAIG FERGUSON, NYPD, and THE INTERVIEW

This week, things are getting real!  We discuss something about Google that I CAN’T EVEN REMEMBER!  Then we talk about the finales of The Colbert Report, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.  We discuss the tragic murder of two NYPD officers, and we ponder whether the canceling of “The Interview” due to North Korean threat is moral responsibility or cowardice.

Get ready for a rip-roaring…well, look, it’s The Pregame, okay?

THIS WEEK, we’re reaching into our collective childhoods and pulling out WILLY WONKA and THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, directed by Mel Stuart and starring Gene Wilder, Jack Albertson, and Peter Ostrum (as “Charlie”).

It’s been almost 4 years now since we started our little project, and 200 episodes later we can’t thank you enough for listening.

This week we prep for our 200th episode by discussing Jay’s Secret-Santa gift.  We talk about the Sony email hack and some of the more naughty bits that have leaked to the public.  We discuss the story of a Harvard lawyer going to war with a small business and whether or not it’s deserved.  We talk about Moral vs. Immoral business practices, and we consider donating to Wikipedia.  We take a look at the case of Mark Wahlberg and whether or not he deserves a “fresh start”.  Last, we'll discuss the recent NBC live production of “Peter Pan”.

This week, we’re watching a Christmas classic and its remake.  First up it’s MIRACLE ON 34th STREET, directed by George Seaton and starring Maureen O’hara, Edmund Gwenn, John Payne, and Natalie Wood.  After that, we watch the 1995 remake MIRACLE ON 34th STREET, directed Les Mayfield and starring Richard Attenborough, Mara Wilson, Elizabeth Perkins, and Dylan McDermott.
